Because they see the difference in appearance between the rotary kiln and the dryer. Not big, the overall cost of the dryer is cheaper, so I want to use the dryer to replace the rotary kiln. This idea is understandable, but there are still differences and differences between rotary dryers and rotary kilns, and their functions and working environments are different.   1. Different appearance: From the appearance, the diameter ratio and length ratio of the rotary kiln are generally more than 10, while the dryer is generally less than 8. In other words, the rotary kiln is very slender and the dryer is stubby. This point may not be obvious enough, but the length of the rotary kiln is usually very long, which is used for thorough calcination when calcining the product.

  2. The process is different: When the dryer is working, the material is continuously thrown and scattered through the rotation of the cylinder and the spiral lifting plate, so that the material can be fully heated and dried. The process is simple and the operation is convenient.

   The main function of the rotary kiln is to calcinate the materials and fully oxidize the materials to achieve the best chemical reaction and meet the requirements of the production process. It is usually used after the classifier and magnetic separator in the beneficiation production line. According to the calcined materials, it can be divided into cement rotary kiln, lime rotary kiln, metallurgical chemical rotary kiln, etc. According to the nature of the material, it can be divided into two working methods: dry production and wet production.

  3. Different purposes: Rotary kiln is also called calcining kiln, or rotary drum drying kiln. It is mainly used for calcining raw materials that require high temperature and changing the properties of materials. For example, the cement clinker is calcined in the cement plant, and the iron and steel mine in the metallurgical industry is magnetized and roasted. Oxidation roasting of chromium, nickel, iron ore, etc., in the field of industry and mining, all materials that need to be roasted are completed by rotary kilns. This is the main purpose of the rotary kiln. For some materials that require high temperatures, rotary kilns are generally used.

The dryer is an important drying equipment in the production of mineral processing. It specializes in drying materials. The main function is to dry ore raw materials. It is often used in ball mills and flotation machines in mineral processing, and can also be used for cement clinker, Drying of raw materials such as coal powder and slag.

  4. The structure is different: the barrel of the tumble dryer is a horizontal revolving cylinder, inside which is welded a variety of staggered plates with different angles. The rotation of the cylinder of the rotary kiln is driven by a gear fixed on the outer diameter of the cylinder through a pinion gear to rotate. Different types of refractory bricks are inlaid in the body according to requirements. A door ring and a spiral plate are installed at the feeding end to prevent the material from being poured. The outside is equipped with a wheel belt for support. This may be the more obvious difference and difference between the two.
