Influencing Factors of Evaporation Intensity of Dryer

The calculation of the output of the dryer is inseparable from the determination of the evaporation intensity of the dryer, and the evaporation intensity of the dryer is related to many factors. There is no formula that can be used to calculate it. Therefore, the evaporation intensity of the dryer of each manufacturer is calculated. The way to determine is not the same. Since the dryer structure of each manufacturer is basically determined, the other main factors affecting the dryer are materials and drying media.


    1. Material types: Different materials have a great influence on the drying effect of the dryer. For example, if clay and slag are dried separately under the same conditions, the evaporation intensity of slag drying is greater than that of clay by 3- 8kg water/(m3·h), this is because the clay is relatively viscous and not easy to disperse, so the evaporation strength is small.


    2. The initial moisture of the material: the greater the initial moisture of the material, the greater the evaporation intensity, and the initial moisture of the material has an obvious influence on the evaporation intensity. When the moisture is 10%, it should be 8-15kg water/(m3·h), because the larger the moisture content of the material, the easier the moisture is to contact with the high-temperature drying medium, and the easier it is to evaporate. Accurately measure its initial moisture.


    3. Final moisture of the material: the greater the final moisture of the material, the greater the evaporation intensity, and the final moisture of the material has an obvious influence on the evaporation intensity. When the moisture is 1%, the evaporation intensity is 5-10kg water/(m3·h), because the moisture of the material is dried, and the less moisture is, the less likely it will be in contact with the high-temperature medium, and the final moisture of the material should be combined. The grinding or storage system before and after the dryer is determined by the owner’s requirements.


    4. Material size: The smaller the material size, the greater the evaporation intensity. The moisture of the material in the dryer is mainly the attached water of the material. The larger the particle size of the material, the more moisture there is in each material. When the drying medium is drying moisture, the material should be heated first, and then the material will transfer heat to the water to make it evaporate and leave the material. Therefore, the smaller the material, the easier the drying medium will heat the material, and the material will also be easy to heat the moisture to make it evaporate. Evaporated, water vapor also more easily escapes the interior of the object.


    5. The temperature of the drying medium: the higher the temperature of the drying medium, the greater the evaporation intensity. For example, when the initial temperature of the drying medium is 800°C, the evaporation intensity of the slag is 10-30kg higher than that at 350°C. Water/(m3·h), this is because the higher the temperature, the higher the convection efficiency, and the easier the high temperature medium is to transfer heat to the material. Generally speaking, the dryer is equipped with a combustion furnace to generate high temperature medium heating. The development of low-temperature medium heating is also relatively rapid. The source is usually the waste gas of rotary kiln and preheater, which can make full use of heat and is also in line with the country’s sustainable energy development.


    The determination of the evaporation intensity of the dryer is the biggest difficulty in the selection of the dryer, and whether it is large or small has a great impact on production.
